Short trip Đà Lạt, the city of eternal spring

I just returned from a short trip to Đà Lạt, the “city of eternal spring” or “city of flowers.” This city of about 230,000 people is one of the fastest growing cities in Việt Nam and was known as the only major city without traffic lights until October 2021. Due to its favorable location at 1,500 meters above sea level and the resulting mild climate, Đà Lạt Nam is the center of Vietnamese coffee, tea, vegetable, strawberry, and even wine culture.

It’s a pretty good place to relax, explore the mountains, lakes, and small villages on a road trip, and enjoy the culinary delights 🥰

Random impressions from the 1st day

Small, bumpy roads between coffee plantations in the middle of nowhere inviting exploration and discovery.

Contextless impressions from the 2nd day

View over tea plantations into the hilly landscape around Đà Lạt with a wind turbine on the right.

Thoughtless impressions from the 3rd day

View from Núi Langbiang, with 2169 meters the highest mountain around Đà Lạt, over the countless strawberry and vegetable greenhouses into the far distance.

Meaningless impressions from the 4th day

Sidetrip to the Tuyệt Tình Cốc gorge near Đà Lạt, which, in addition to beautiful waterfall and gorge sceneries, also managed to impress with stately mountains of trash.
