Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences: the ultimate luxury megatall in Dubai

Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences: the ultimate luxury megatall in Dubai

If you are looking for a place to live (in a few years, probably) that offers unparalleled luxury, breathtaking views, and state-of-the-art amenities, then you might want to check out Burj Binghatti. This is not just another skyscraper in Dubai, but a groundbreaking project that aims to be the world’s tallest residential tower.

Emerging from a collaboration between real estate developer Binghatti and luxury jewelry company Jacob & Co, Burj Binghatti will be a 600+ meter or 105-story (+7 stories below ground) residential complex consisting of two and three-bedroom apartments located in Business Bay Dubai with a total floor area of 250,000m². It will be close to major attractions such as Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera House, and Downtown Dubai – and also have easy access to the Dubai Metro. Designed by award-winning architect Carlos Ott, who has also worked on iconic buildings such as the Opera de la Bastille in Paris and the National Bank of Dubai, the tower is inspired by the shape of diamonds, reflecting Jacob & Co’s expertise in jewelry-making – and crowned by an unparalleled sparkling and glittering crown of diamond-cut glass panels and decorative elements. But it’s not just a sparkling diamond in the sky, it’s also a shining pearl at night – the façade features a dynamic lighting system that creates different patterns and colors during the dark hours. Jacob & Co’s signature style also informs the interior design, with elegant finishes, bespoke furniture, and exquisite artwork. Bling-bling at every turn.

Supertall or megatall?

Unveiled at Dubai Expo 2020 in November 2022 (delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic), construction began shortly thereafter and is expected to be completed by 2025. The final height of the Burj Binghatti has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be over 600 meters tall. This would make it the world’s tallest residential tower, surpassing Dubai’s current tallest residential tower, the Princess Tower (393m), and New York’s Central Park Tower, which stands at 472.4m. At that height, it could join the elite group of the world’s megatalls, which are buildings over 600 meters tall (or it could be another supertall, which is a building between 300 and 599 meters tall. But this is unlikely). Currently, there are only four completed megatall skyscrapers worldwide, with Burj Khalifa (828m) and Merdeka 118 (678.9m) being the tallest in this elite category. However, none of them are purely residential like Burj Binghatti.

Luxury over 9000

Burj Binghatti will offer its residents an unparalleled experience where style, comfort, and convenience create a harmonious oasis. Features include a rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of the Dubai skyline, private bars and restaurants, a world-class cinema, a library, a fitness center, and much more. Of course, since the project’s initiators are suppliers of luxury goods, they could not be missing: Burj Binghatti will offer exclusive access to Jacob & Co’s products and services, including a private showroom where residents can browse and purchase Jacob & Co’s jewelry collection (along a VIP membership program to enjoy further discounts and privileges) and a custom design service where they can create their own unique pieces of jewelry with Jacob & Co’s experts. In addition, concierge services, world-class chefs available for private events, and other amenities are designed to make living in the skyscraper as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

But before you can indulge in luxury, you have to put your money where your mouth is – it is well-known that projects of this magnitude tend to fail during the planning phase or shortly after the start of construction. Just think of the Nakheel Tower (1,000m), the Dubai Creek Tower (1,300+m), or the Jeddah Tower in neighbouring Saudi Arabia (1,008m). Well, we’ll see – if realized, this potential megatall could be a visually interesting addition to Dubai’s skyline, even if ordinary people like you and me can only enjoy it from the outside.
