Western news covers wars proportional to their economic threat, not their human cost. Ukraine disrupts energy markets – wall-to-wall coverage. Iran threatens the Strait of Hormuz – sudden urgency. Meanwhile Somalia, Myanmar, Sudan, Yemen… barely a footnote. Our attention hierarchy isn’t about empathy. It has a dehumanized price tag.
